Pear Tart Recipe - Hapisoy

Pear Tart


  • 2 cups flour

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup 2 tablespoons vegan margarine

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 3 tablespoons water (cold)

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 375g (1 jar) HapiSoy Sweetened Condensed Soy Milk

  • 1/2 cup ground almonds

  • 2 eggs 

  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

  • 500g pears, sliced


  1. Combine flour, sugar and salt in a large bowl.

  2. Add chopped up vegan margarine and mix by hand until a crumb forms.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the water and oil together.

  4. Add the water mixture in moderation to the crumbs, mixing slowly until a dough forms .

  5. Once the dough is all kneaded together and there's no extra flour, cover it with plastic wrap, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

  6. Once chilled, remove the dough from the refrigerator and roll it out onto a lightly floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.

  7. When it's rolled out, gently press it into a pie tin, trimming the edges.

  8. Bake in 200°C preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven.

  9. Beat the vegetable oil and HapiSoy Sweetened Condensed Soy Milk. Add ground almonds and vanilla and stir well.

  10. Spoon the mixture into the prepared pie tin. Place the sliced pears over the mixture and push them slightly into it.

  11. Bake in 185°C preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until firm in the middle.

  12. Cool before serving.
